After waiting for the report released by the independent investigators, the public and leaders now have a detailed and deeply disturbing account of the sexual harassment allegations against Governor Cuomo. We thank the women who spoke up at great personal risk and pain. Their courage put in motion a process for a thorough investigation led by the Attorney General Letitia James. The result of her fair and steady handling of this matter is a compelling and damning report that concludes that the Governor sexually harassed women, retaliated against at least one, created a toxic and complicit work environment, and broke New York and federal laws.

With the evidence of wrongdoing, the need for trusted leadership, and the goal and opportunity to address the scourge of historic harassment in Albany and in our culture, PowHer New York calls for Governor Cuomo to make the decision to step down immediately. If he chooses not to do so, we call on the New York State Assembly, Senate and Court of Appeals to fulfill their constitutional mandate to hold him accountable.
