In June 2015, we cheered the passage of most of the Women’s Equal Act and in October celebrated when Governor Cuomo’s signed the bills. As of today, January 19, 2016, all the bills are law and we can truly feel pride in our immense accomplishment!

Because of our collective effort, the women of New York have stronger rights from gender discrimination and abuse. We are especially gratified with the new equal pay protections our Equal Pay Campaign pressed for years.

As PowherNY works to ensure that these rights are publicized broadly and the Equal Pay Act is enforced, we are revving up for the next set of needed reforms to close the wage gap.
