Black Women Equal Pay Day: August 7th
This year Black Women’s Equal Pay Day is August 7th to reflect that nationally black women make 63 cents compared to a dollar earned by the average white male. In New York, the number is 66 cents which is especially egregious because our overall gap is 89 cents, and NY has the second largest population of full-time working Black women, over 500,000. We must close this gap.
