1. When Women Thrive, Businesses Thrive

New York Times- Women, who continue to be underrepresented at most levels in the workforce, are not progressing in their careers despite the past two decades of organizational efforts to achieve gender diversity and equality. Read the Report.

 

2. How many weeks of unpaid time off of work per year do you get for a family health emergency or to take care of a new baby— without losing your job?

A Better Balance– To mark the anniversary of the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, ABB developed a  new online resource to help educate parents, parents-to-be, and caregivers about their rights in the workplace.

 

3. If you are a working woman you might want to stay on the east coast. 

Daily Mail– The wild west is no place for working women, according to a survey that says Wyoming, Utah and Idaho are the worst states for females in the workplace.

 

4. Have to keep a vigilant eye on gender pay gap.

New York Times– Flexible work schedules and generous leave policies aren’t enough to solve that issue, and, in fact, can hurt women who use them if they aren’t managed properly.

 

5. “Heck yeah, I worked hard to see that happen and I will continue to work hard to see even more women in the trades.”
